The hazards and solutions for excessive temperature in injection molding machines

Perhaps it is because the melting temperature of the material was too high, or because the desktop injection molding machine has been in use for a long time, causing the machine's own temperature to be too high. This might have some impact on the production of the desktop injection molding machine.



What are the potential hazards when the temperature of the desktop injection molding machine is too high?

1.Cause thermal deformation in the machinery
In hydraulic components, moving parts with different thermal expansion coefficients get stuck due to the reduction in their clearance, resulting in malfunction, affecting the transmission accuracy of the hydraulic system, and causing a deterioration in the working quality of the components.

2.The temperature of the injection machine is too high. Measures must be taken to prevent the operators from getting burned.

3.If the temperature of the injection molding machine is too high, it will cause the material to melt rapidly and even burn, resulting in the inability to produce plastic products that meet the requirements.

4.Resulting in a deterioration of the working quality of the components
If the temperature of the injection machine rises too high, it will lead to a deterioration in the working quality of the components, the dissolved air in the oil will escape, causing cavitation, and thereby reducing the working performance of the hydraulic system. The ideal working temperature of the hydraulic system should be between 45 degrees and 50 degrees. This is because the hydraulic system is designed based on a selected pressure oil viscosity, but the viscosity will change with the oil temperature, thereby affecting the working elements in the system, such as the oil cylinder and hydraulic valve, reducing the control accuracy and response sensitivity. This is especially true for precision injection machines. At the same time, excessively high temperatures will accelerate the aging of the seals, causing them to harden and crack; while excessively low temperatures will result in high energy consumption during processing, reducing the operating speed. Therefore, it is very necessary to closely monitor the working temperature of the hydraulic oil. The reasons for the high oil temperature are diverse, but they mostly result from oil circuit faults or failure of the cooling system.


Solution for excessive temperature of injection molding machine
1.According to different load requirements, it is necessary to frequently check and adjust the pressure of the relief valve to ensure it is just right.

2.Proper selection of hydraulic oil, especially the viscosity of the oil, is crucial. Under conditions permitting, it is advisable to use a lower viscosity to minimize the friction loss caused by viscosity.

3.Improving the lubrication conditions of the moving parts can reduce friction losses, which is beneficial for lowering the working load and reducing heat generation.

4.Improve the assembly quality and self-precision of hydraulic components and hydraulic systems, strictly control the clearance of mating parts and improve the lubrication conditions. Use sealing materials with low friction coefficients and improve the sealing structure to minimize the starting force of the hydraulic cylinder as much as possible, in order to reduce the heat generated by mechanical friction losses.

5.Cooling devices should be added if necessary.
